The DED e-trader is a license that can be obtained online with a 100% foreign ownership, for only professional and services activities. There are around 3000 activities available on the DED e-trader platform. Documents required for obtaining an e-trader license in Dubai

  • Applicant must be a resident of Dubai and own a valid Emirates ID 
  • Applicant’s minimum age should be 21 years
  • Register the trade name with the authorities. After getting the approval, attach it with the application
  • Proof of residence (Makani number). However, Ejari is not essential


It may take up to 3- 5 business days for the issue of an e-trader license. The payment has to be made within 24 hours of the issuance of the payment voucher. A Dubai Chamber of Commerce membership is mandatory for conducting commercial business activities. The license is issued for one year which needs to be renewed annually, within one month of the due date.
